Mike and I were not long married and living in Kent when we first met a Siberian husky in the grey shape of Forstal’s Yakov, owned by the Leich family.  He was looking for a home, and we were so taken by his character, temperament and looks that he promptly joined us.  He lived till he was 16 yrs,  ever young in spirit and outlook.  Our first bitch was a black and white one, Forstal’s Reina.   With these two dogs we established our kennels, in 1975.

Acryse Teesha

Subsequently that year we moved to Scotland, where  we met Fay and Kevin Kolz, stationed over here with the American Air Force.  They had two huskies with them, Am Ch Nivek’s Dona Copo de Nieve, a black and white bitch,  and Jlahka’s Play It Again Sam, a red and white boy. . These two dogs were outstanding examples of the breed.   Both  Fay and Kevin were extremely knowledgeable about huskies, and had made up champions in the States; we learned so much from them about the breed, from its beginnings with the Seppala dogs, through to our modern day breed.  Their dogs had a litter, and the one we kept, Nivek’s Peaches and Cream, became our foundation bitch.  Her litter sister, Nivek’s Ginger and Cream, went back to the States when Fay and Kevin left the UK and was made up to a Champion over there.  To go with Peaches we bought  Skimarque Checkov, who was by Jlahka’s Play It Again Sam, out of  Kolyma’s Uluk.  These two dogs became our foundation kennel, and trace back to famous kennels such as Weldon’s, Karnovanda, Mondadnock’s and Innisfree.  A few years down the line we were fortunate to acquire Satanta’s Sundancer of Acryse, an outstanding black and white dog who had such lovely pups.  Following him was another very influential black and white boy, Rajarani Kimba Bear.  Both these dogs threw superb examples of the breed.  Over the years we also introduced new female lines, such as Rossfort Natasha, (Arcticlight’s Silver Shadrin x Arcticlight’s Canadian Crystal),  and Paskinal Nanney the Mazer.
